Knew my name. These calls are getting out of control

Caller asked for me by first name. I answered "this is". A contrived husky voice asked if I still wanted to do the painting job, to which I said "I don't think we're on the same page." He abruptly left. I got the impression (after the fact) this might have been one of those call designed to simply get you to say "yes", a recording of which would be used for other purposes. Otherwise I can't figure a motive.
