William Harris called saying he was with Consumer Affairs. As he had called before, I let this call go to voicemail. He was calling for my 87 year old mother and stated that "he expected her to return his call soon". So this has been going on for two years and he's still out there.
Got a call from William Harris, 202-908-4979 saying he was from Consumer Protection Bureau and that I had not responded to a prize I had won; same $450,000 cited above. Same Day I got a call from a Mary Ann Moose, at 202-864-0154 that I have not collected my prize money and I needed to call them. Reporting it here. I won't call back so hopefully this will stop.
My 92 year old father was called by this man. He nearly duped my father into getting a cashier's check for $500 in order to pickup some prize. Looking at the complaints on this number, I can't believe no police have shut this down.
Amazing! Over a year later, exact same scam with William Harris, phone number, and coming to the house the next day at the exact same time. He did include winning $450,000 in Mega Million.
Saw this was a DC number, so I answered it (having worked with gov't) Said he was with consumer reports and was calling regarding the Publishers Clearing House contest. Told him that I hadn't entered any contest, and he promptly hung up. However, he kept calling so I had the number blocked.
Got same exact message as above.

Said he was William Harris and that I had won a lot of money in a contest. Said he would be at my house between 9 and 11am the following morning with check, photographers and news reporters. Did not show up and have not heard from him again.

Got a call from 202-908-4979 saying he was Will Harris from Consumer Affairs and expected me to call him back. After reading other people's experience with receiving calls from this number, I assume it's a scam. I used *60 call reject feature on my phone.
